Quality marks

In the Netherlands, objects from precious metals have been checked for their content of precious metals for more than 600 years. This makes it the oldest form of consumer protection we know. The affixed hallmark guarantees the level of platinum, gold and/or silver in your piece of jewellery or other object. All articles sold by us are marked.

Jewellery or items made from silver (8 grams or more), gold (1 gram or more) or platinum (0.5 gram or more) which you purchase in the Netherlands must have a hallmark which is recognised in the Netherlands. Articles which weigh less than this do not have to have a hallmark. Since 2010, articles made from palladium may have a palladium hallmark, although this is not obligatory.
